In 2019 we were invited to work with the Museum of Brisbane team, and curator Dr Andrew McNamara, to provide the design for the Bauhaus Now exhibition at the museum’s galleries. Working with over 100 artworks the design carefully places each work within the galleries, suiting their theming, relationships to adjacent works, and most importantly providing an engaging reception for viewers. Site lines through the exhibition are constructed around a set of contiguous coloured window-walls that reference the work of Bauhaus master Joseph Albers.
A scaled version of a Brisbane World War II air-raid shelter acts as an over-sized vitrine to house works that reference living in Brisbane during World War II and associated refugee internment camps that were experienced by the artists in the exhibition.
